Learn moreThe work
Most calls we take in San Jose start with a stain on a ceiling. Sometimes the fix is a slipped tile or a split pipe boot that takes an hour. Sometimes the underlayment under a 1990s tile roof has turned to paper and the answer is a lift-and-relay. You hear which one it is before anyone mentions a new roof.
The work covers composition shingle, concrete and clay tile, standing seam and stone-coated metal, torch-down and single-ply flat roofs, and spray foam on the low-slope homes around Willow Glen. We install shingle systems from GAF, Owens Corning and Malarkey, tile from Eagle and Westlake Royal, and DECRA stone-coated steel where a lighter roof makes sense on an older frame.
Permits go through SJPermits before a re-roof starts, cool-roof ratings are documented for the Title 24 check, and in the Almaden Valley and East Foothills fire zones the assembly is spec'd to Class A.

Calls are answered around the clock, every day of the year.
What happens after you call
You describe what you see and whether it is dripping right now. Emergencies move to the front of the day.
A roofer walks the roof and attic and shows you photos of every problem area.
You get a scope in writing that separates the repair that solves today's leak from the work that can wait. Re-roofs list material, underlayment, flashing and venting line by line.
For anything over the 25 percent threshold we pull the reroof permit through SJPermits, document the cool-roof rating for Title 24 and confirm the fire class for your zone.
Repairs are usually done the same visit. Re-roofs are staged so the roof is never left open overnight, and every dumpster and tarp leaves with us.
We walk the finished roof with you, hand over the material paperwork, and go through what to watch for in the first rainy season.
FAQ
Yes, every hour of every day. Overnight calls get a plan on the phone and a roofer or tarp crew at first light.
The roof walk decides it. If the leak is a flashing, a pipe boot, a few tiles or a small section of underlayment, we repair it. If the deck is soft, the underlayment is failing across the roof, or the covering is past its service life, we show you the photos and price both options.
The city requires a reroof permit when 25 percent or more of the roof is replaced within 12 months. Smaller repairs do not need one. We apply through SJPermits and handle the final inspection.
California's energy code sets minimum reflectance and emittance values for most permitted re-roofs. Compliant products carry a CRRC rating, and we document that rating with the permit so the inspection passes without a return visit.
Yes. Re-roofs in mapped Fire Hazard Severity Zones require a Class A fire-rated assembly, and vents should be ember resistant. Almaden Valley and the East Foothills near Alum Rock are the main zones in the city.
Yes. Foam recoats, new foam roofs and repairs to built-up roofs on Eichler and other low-slope homes are regular work for us, including the drainage crickets that stop ponding.
Yes. TPO and PVC repairs and replacements, coatings, drain service and maintenance programs with written reports.
There is one number for both. The San Jose service office at 1423 Douglas St handles the South Bay and the San Francisco head office handles the city; the call goes to whoever is closest and available.

Local conditions
San Jose sits in the rain shadow of the Santa Cruz Mountains and gets only about 15 inches of rain a year, but more than 80 percent of it lands between November and March, often as a handful of atmospheric-river storms that arrive back to back. A roof that leaked in February usually leaks again in the next storm because the deck never dries between them.
Summer is the other half. Around 3,400 hours of sun a year loosen asphalt granules and chalk foam surfaces, so a roof that looks fine in June can open in the first November rain.
The median San Jose home dates to the mid-1970s, so many roofs are on a second or third covering, often with rotted sheathing hiding under a 1990s overlay.

(669) 259-7490Why us
A midnight leak gets a plan tonight and a tarp or roofer at first light.
A new roof is recommended when the deck or underlayment says so, not because it is the bigger ticket.
Concrete tile relays, Eichler foam roofs and torch-down decks are regular jobs here.
SJPermits filings, Title 24 documentation and Class A assemblies are part of every re-roof scope.
The San Jose service office runs the South Bay work and the San Francisco head office covers the city, both reached on the same number.
Coverage
Most of the work runs out of the San Jose service office on 1423 Douglas St, a few minutes from downtown, and covers the city plus the South Bay communities around it. Larger re-roofs and commercial jobs take the crews further down the valley. Work in San Francisco is run from the head office on Eddy Street, on the same phone number.
Beyond the city, the crews cover Santa Clara County, San Mateo County, San Francisco, Alameda County, Santa Cruz County, Palo Alto and Oakland. The Service Area page shows where coverage stops.
A stain, a drip, a slipped tile or a roof that is just old: describe it and we will tell you what happens next. Calls are answered 24/7 in San Jose and San Francisco.
